My Summer
Job '98
During the
summer of '98 I decided to take a summer job. Being a computer lover, I
decided to apply for computer related jobs. I ended up working in a
computer camp for children between the ages of 4-16 (I was in charge of
the older kids - ages 8-16). I taught 5 camps - Multimedia, Robotics, Web
Master, Programming Fundamentals, and Keyboarding. I was very surprised at
some kids' abiltity to learn course material so quickly. Once they got the
hang of Windows 95, they really seemed to enjoy themselves!
A
BIT MORE INFO ABOUT THE CAMPS:
- Robotics
- This was a really cool camp where the
kids built small machines such as toy cars and programmed them to
actually run.
- Fundamentals
- In this camp, the children learned the
basics of Object-Oriented Programming.
- Web Master -
The kids
designed and implemented their own personal web pages here.
- Multimedia
- In this camp, the kids explored
different types of input media such as movie cameras, VCRs, scanners,
microphones... which they used to make their very own movies.
- Keyboarding
- not a lot to explain about this camp
except that the kids learned how to type properly.
